The Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to support the leadership of their London boutique. Working closely with the Store Manager, you will play a key role in driving commercial success, delivering an exceptional client experience, and developing a high-performing retail team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded retail leader who is passionate about fashion, clientelling, and team development. You will lead by example, ensuring the boutique operates to the highest standards while creating an inspiring environment for both clients and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Store Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operation of the boutique, ensuring excellence across sales, service, and operational performance.
  • Inspire, coach, and develop the team through regular training, mentoring, and performance feedback, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture.
  • Take ownership of the boutique in the Store Manager's absence, leading the team with confidence while ensuring business objectives are achieved.
  • Champion an elevated client experience by encouraging personalised styling, appointment selling, CRM activity, and long-term relationship building.
  • Build and nurture relationships with VIP clients, local communities, personal shoppers, and key partners to drive client acquisition and loyalty.
  • Monitor sales performance, key performance indicators, and business objectives, implementing action plans to maximise boutique results.
  • Oversee stock management, inventory control, visual merchandising, and operational procedures, ensuring company standards are consistently maintained.
  • Act as a true brand ambassador by maintaining expert product knowledge and staying informed on industry trends, competitor activity, and the evolving luxury retail landscape.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in an Assistant Manager, Supervisor, or similar leadership role within luxury, premium, or contemporary fashion retail.
  • Proven ability to lead, inspire, and develop high-performing retail teams.
  • Strong commercial awareness with a track record of achieving sales targets and driving business performance.
  • Experience delivering exceptional client service and building long-term customer relationships through clientelling.
  • Excellent organisational, operational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding communication and leadership abilities with a hands-on and collaborative approach.
  • A genuine passion for fashion, craftsmanship, and premium customer experiences.
