Operations Manager, Luxury RTW & Accessories

Central London 

£60,000 plus bonus and package

Role Overview

The Operations Manager is responsible for leading and optimising all operational aspects of a high-performing, luxury retail environment. Supporting a flagship store with significant annual turnover, this role ensures operational excellence, compliance, and efficiency across all functions, enabling the sales team to deliver an exceptional client experience.

Managing a team of five direct reports, the Operations Manager will act as a strategic partner to the Store Director, driving performance through robust processes, strong leadership, and a detail-oriented approach.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Oversee all day-to-day operational functions within a fast-paced, high-volume retail store
  • Ensure seamless coordination between front-of-house and back-of-house activities
  • Implement and maintain best-in-class operational standards to support commercial success
  • Act as a key member of the leadership team, contributing to overall store strategy and performance

Team Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of five operational team members
  • Foster a culture of accountability, precision, and continuous improvement
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, training, and succession planning
  • Ensure team alignment with store objectives and operational KPIs

Stock & Inventory Control

  • Maintain accurate inventory management, including stock control, audits, and reporting
  • Oversee stockroom organisation, ensuring efficiency and compliance with company standards
  • Manage deliveries, transfers, and stock discrepancies with a proactive approach
  • Partner closely with merchandising and sales teams to optimise product availability

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure full compliance with all company policies, procedures, and legal requirements
  • Oversee health & safety standards, ensuring a safe environment for both team and clients
  • Manage loss prevention strategies and mitigate operational risks
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for audit purposes

Financial & Commercial Support

  • Support the Store Director in achieving and exceeding store turnover targets
  • Monitor operational costs and identify opportunities for efficiencies
  • Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis
  • Ensure operational processes support a premium client experience and sales growth

Systems & Process Optimisation

  • Drive continuous improvement of operational systems and workflows
  • Ensure effective use of retail systems, POS, and reporting tools
  • Identify inefficiencies and implement solutions to enhance productivity
  • Lead operational projects and initiatives at store level

Key Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in an Operations Manager or similar role within a premium or luxury retail environment
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams
  • Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
  • Commercially aware, with an understanding of how operations impact sales performance
  • Experience managing inventory, stock control, and audits in a high-value environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficient in retail systems and Microsoft Office
