The Role
A luxury fashion brand is seeking an experienced Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager at its Plaza Del Lago location in Chicago. The role will support the day-to-day operation of the store while helping to deliver a premium, highly personalised customer experience.
The Assistant Store Manager will play an important role in clienteling, developing long-term customer relationships and supporting sales growth. The position will also involve leading and motivating the store team, supporting training and maintaining high operational and service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Store Manager with the day-to-day running of the store, including opening and closing procedures.
- Support visual merchandising, inventory management and overall store presentation.
- Deliver a premium customer experience through strong product knowledge, styling advice and personalised service.
- Build and maintain long-term customer relationships through clienteling and personal shopping.
- Support efforts to develop the store's client base and increase high-value customer traffic.
- Lead, motivate and support store team members to maintain high standards of service and performance.
- Assist with team scheduling and training where required.
- Manage point-of-sale activities and support accurate store procedures.
- Monitor store performance and support the achievement of sales targets.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation and presentation throughout the store.
- Follow appropriate loss-prevention procedures.
- Work closely with store leadership to drive sales, customer loyalty and operational efficiency.
About You
- Previous experience in Store Management, Assistant Store Management or retail leadership.
- Previous experience within fashion or specialty retail is essential; luxury retail experience is highly desirable.
- Strong customer-facing skills, with proven experience in personal shopping and clienteling.
- A genuine passion for product, fashion and styling.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage confidently with customers and colleagues.
- Proven ability to supervise, motivate and support a retail team.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable using POS systems and basic retail analytics; Shopify experience is an advantage.
- Customer-focused, commercially aware and committed to delivering high standards of service.
- Able to work full-time on-site, including weekends and occasional evenings for events.
