The Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing logistics operations, coordinating transportation and third-party logistics providers, and ensuring the smooth movement, storage, and distribution of goods.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage transportation systems and coordinate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to optimise collection and delivery schedules.
- Oversee company vehicles and manage drivers in line with company transport policies.
- Ensure all vehicles meet industry standards and comply with relevant haulage and transport regulations.
- Maintain full compliance with health and safety regulations across all warehouse activities.
- Manage and maintain health and safety audits, training programmes, signage, and documentation.
- Monitor and replenish warehouse consumables within agreed budgets.
- Utilise Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP platforms to track stock levels, process orders, and generate operational reports.
- Manage the order book and ensure ageing orders are identified and actioned promptly.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service delivery.
- Work closely with supply chain and warehouse teams to streamline processes and improve workflow.
- Coordinate with shipping and receiving teams to ensure the timely dispatch and receipt of goods.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ management experience within a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Proven experience managing and tracking third-party logistics (3PL) collections and deliveries.
- Experience handling large, heavy, high-value, or luxury goods within a warehouse environment.
- Strong understanding of supply chain processes, logistics management, and transportation systems.
- Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP platforms, and Microsoft Outlook/Excel.
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving procedures and working with 3PL providers.
- Forklift licence or operational experience preferred.
- Excellent organisational and people management skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret operational or profit and loss data to support decision-making.
- Demonstrated experience delivering continuous improvement initiatives within warehouse operations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
