Four Seasons Recruitment are exclusively representing an internationally acclaimed company, who are seeking an experienced and proactive Assistant Warehouse Manager, to support the day-to-day operations of ther warehouse facility in Swindon.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader with strong organisational and people-management skills to play a key role in maintaining efficient warehouse operations and driving operational excellence.

 

The Role:

You will work closely with the Warehouse Manager to oversee logistics activities, manage inventory, lead warehouse staff, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in a fast-paced environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the management of daily warehouse operations, including goods receiving, shipping, order fulfilment, and stock control.
  • Supervise and motivate warehouse staff while ensuring adherence to operational procedures and safety standards.
  • Utilise Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP platforms to monitor inventory, process orders, and produce operational reports.
  • Manage the order book, ensuring ageing orders are reviewed and actioned promptly.
  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining audit records, training documentation, and safety signage.
  • Oversee forklift operations, ensuring safe use and coordinating training where required.
  • Work closely with shipping and receiving teams to ensure timely dispatch and receipt of goods.
  • Manage warehouse inventory including quality control, stock rotation, and identification of ageing or damaged stock.
  • Maintain warehouse consumables within agreed budget guidelines.
  • Support the recruitment, training, and development of warehouse staff, ensuring compliance with employment regulations.
  • Monitor team attendance and wellbeing, providing feedback to HR and supporting a positive team culture.
  • Promote strong communication, engagement, and motivation across the warehouse team.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong people management skills with the ability to lead and motivate teams.
  • Experience in inventory management and warehouse operations.
  • Solid knowledge of health and safety practices within warehouse environments.
  • Experience using WMS, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office (Excel/Outlook).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and numerical abilities.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3+ years’ management experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
  • Experience handling large, heavy, valuable, or luxury goods.
  • Good understanding of supply chain, logistics, and transportation processes.
  • Familiarity with 3PL providers and shipping/receiving procedures.
  • Forklift operation experience preferred.
  • Experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives within warehouse operations.
  • Ability to interpret operational data and P&L information to support decision-making.
