Last week, Stuart Weitzman announced that Gigi Hadid, who is also the face of the brand's fall 2016 campaign, has recently designed her own limited-edition namesake boot this season. The style was revealed with a new short film directed by friend James Franco. The two minute clip shows Hadid wearing her Gigi Boot in a boxing ring, showing how the heeled boot is durable enough for such intense sports.
The shoe itself is a hiker-inspired, lace-up bootie with a combat silhouette, set on a stacked heel with metallic eyelets, duo-toned laces and a detailed collar. The Victoria Secrets model has also designed the shoe in three difference colours – iron grey, copper and black crocodile embossed leather.
Part of the Gigi Boot's proceeds will go towards the non-profit Pencils of Promise, as the brand has committed to building three schools worldwide in Ghana, Guatemala and Laos.
"I was really thinking of myself in New York, running around everywhere during the day and at night," Hadid told Vogue about the boot's design process. "I was always able to come up with the look for the shoe in my brain, but they were a bit harder to execute than clothing." She continued: "These designs have the ability to go from sexy to sporty, and they have an agility to them but a gracefulness at the same time."
The Gigi Boot starts at £460 for the metallic styles and goes up to £498 for the croco-calf version, and is available at Stuart Weitzman retail locations and global websites.
