London Fashion Week – The Best Bits

So that’s it until February, London Fashion Week is over however Milan and Paris are yet to come – do not despair!

From its new location at Brewer Street car park in Soho, this was the location for the international fashion scene for the past five days. This new purpose built location was ready to showcase the amazing designers and their collections including the likes of Eudon Choi, Bora Aksu, Molly Goddard J Js Lee and more.

When it was announced earlier this year that the Fashion Week venue would be moving from the much-loved Somerset House to a car park the fashion pack sat lips pursed! However it seems the atmosphere at Brewer Street was professional and the new venue proved to be a great success – walking through the exhibitions to the shows was a great way to window shop the smaller designers.

Moving swiftly to the shows, some of my highlights were:-

Long live FIT-AND-FLARE & SHOULDER BEARING at Barbara Casasola – fantastically feminine
RETRO SPORTS involving LACE, SMOCKING and UTILITY POCKETS at Peter Pilotto
IRRIDESCENT leather at Belstaff
Swan Lake inspired FRAYED ORGANZA at Roksanda
Colours :Yellow, Powder Pink, Ivory and Red, White & Blue (yes all three together a la Victoria Beckham and Ralph Lauren, NYFW)

Finally, my personal favourite, Burberry Prosum, this season accompanied by a 32 piece orchestra (also tastefully wearing Burberry, of course!) and a pretty slick front row including Benedict Cumberbatch, Sienna Miller and Kate Moss.

A strong bold collection based on big gold military detail, braiding, and embroidery and did I mention lots of black?

Bailey has created stunning trans-seasonal pieces of duffle’s, capes and peacoats paired with lighter, silkier layers of white, cream and gold.
