Four Seasons Recruitment visited Mademoiselle Prive – the Saatchi gallery exhibition based on the life and work of Coco Chanel recently. The exhibition took over the whole of the Saatchi gallery showcasing three floors of everything Chanel.
Walking through the exhibition was an insight into Coco herself from the recreation of her salon, including the stair case where she used to sit unnoticed to observe the reaction to her collections, to her first store opening which focused on hats, and her summers in Scotland that inspired her hugely through her fashion.
The interactive nature of the exhibition came to life, through the Mademoiselle Prive App – including holding the App open over a doorway which opened to show Coco selecting fabric. The icons that we know as being innately Chanel, No 5, the interlocking C’s, pearls and lace were all showcased, alongside the first high jewellery collection designed by Coco Chanel in 1932.
There was no doubt Chanel lovers were left with an intimate peek into the lifestyle of Coco Chanel, and the way that she still inspires Karl Lagerfeld daily.
