Running from 15th – 17th August Marc Jacobs has opened a social media pop-up shop to promote his new Daisy Chain perfume. The concept of the tweet shop is to post a tweet or photo with the #MJDAISYCHAIN in exchange for Marc Jacobs goodies. No money needed! The spacious store came complete with a coffee bar, nail bar, DJ, and a big screen displaying everyone’s photos and tweets.
One tweet is worth a mini fragrance while those that include an image or video related to Marc Jacobs will get a key ring or free manicure at the in-store nail bar. If you’re feeling in need of a pick-me-up you can also exchange a tweet for a delicious coffee and macaroon (of course branded with the hashtag). As if all these freebies isn’t enough, the store is running competitions with the chance to win full size Marc Jacobs products including handbags!
To help you with your creative photo tweets the shop is packed full of props including giant perfume bottles, a swing seat, giant flowers, woodland logs and pretty backdrops. All you need is a bit of creativity and you can look like your in a Marc Jacobs advert! Whilst we sadly weren’t a winner, we were there to witness a girl screaming with delight as she was chosen as the lucky winner of a handbag!
This is a really exciting way of utilising our growing love of social media and we look forward to seeing how other brands will come up with creative ways of using it to promote their products.
The pop-up can be found at 4 East Piazza in Covent Garden. The three-day event will be open from 10am-8pm on Friday and Saturday, and 10am-6pm on Sunday.
