Are you interested in an exciting opportunity to work in a creative role as a Girlswear Designer in London? This role will be developing Childrenswear for customers, using a strong design skill set to produce a young directional fashion product.



The Company:



Our client is a global design and manufacturing company supplying to the UK High Street.



Girlswear Designer - Childrenswear - The Person:



With an eye for commercial product and flair for trends, the candidate will be skilled and experienced with the desire to develop their career in a dynamic and fast-paced company. The ideal candidate will have a good level of experience working on Girls wear and must be capable of designing a full multi-product range.



Girlswear Designer - The Role:



*Present ranges to customers buyers and external design teams, mood boards and research
*Develop close regular communication with the Far East and Indian factories and suppliers to ensure samples are accurate and deadlines are met
*Interact with sales and technical departments within the UK office therefore sound knowledge of garment construction as well as the ability to produce accurate and detailed spec drawings is needed
*Attend prediction and trade fairs and maintaining a strong awareness of current product on the High Street. Also, developing and sourcing new trims and fabrics
*Travel to India and the Far East
*Co-ordinate product development with far-east and meeting deadlines for samples in order to present the ranges to the customers.



Girlswear Designer - The Candidate:



*Ensure high level of experience working as a designer in required product area with strong commercial 'handwriting' in a supplier environment.
*Sound knowledge of garment construction as well as the ability to produce accurate and detailed spec drawings is needed
*Experience of working with the Far East and Indian factories and suppliers
*Possess a strong understanding of fabric and trim bases, graphics and embellishment, garment specs/fits as required
*Strong CAD skills with a good knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop
